How to read the day's panchang
The tithi is the lunar day; it sets the general tone and whether the day suits beginnings. The nakshatra is the Moon's mansion; it decides above all which activities the day favours. The yoga and karana refine the quality of the day; some of them, such as Vyatipata, Vaidhriti or Vishti karana, are avoided for beginnings. The weekday colours the day with the nature of its planet.
Change times are given in the local time of Kolkata. When a limb changes during the day, morning and evening carry different values.
Unfavourable and favourable windows
