Best time to get a pet: the JyotiSoft chart answer

This is the Navigator question “Best time to get a pet”. The answer comes in the @JyotiSoftBot bot and is built from your own chart and from the panchang: whether this is a supportive stretch or a stretched one for taking an animal in, three dates to bring it home with a reason for each, the days to keep clear, and what the first weeks will ask of you. Below is what the answer contains and what it never does.

What the answer contains

  1. Is this the season for it. The 6th house and its lord, the house of the kept animal and the daily service it needs, with the running periods and their dates; the 4th for the home that has to hold it, the Moon for the attachment, Saturn for whether there is routine to spare, and Jupiter's and Saturn's transits for how much endurance the next year is already spending. The answer says plainly whether this stretch is supportive or stretched: an animal arrives into a life, not into a chart, and a hard Saturn period is an honest reason to wait.
  2. Three dates. Three dates from the calculation's scoring of the next sixty days, each with its own reason in plain words: the nakshatra, the tithi, the weekday and the yoga. A waxing Moon is preferred, stated once as the classical reason rather than as a rule. The three are ranked, with the best one named and why.
  3. What to avoid, and the first weeks. The days to keep clear and why: Vishti (Bhadra) karana, Amavasya, an eclipse fortnight, a malefic nakshatra or an inauspicious yoga. Then a short paragraph on the settling-in period: where the friction will be in the first weeks and what makes it easier, and one concrete preparation to make before the chosen day.

What it is calculated from

The same calculation as your chart in the bot and the Mini App: sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsha, whole-sign houses. It uses the 6th and 4th houses, the Moon and Saturn, the running periods (the Vimshottari dasha) with the transits of Jupiter and Saturn, and the calculation's scoring of the next sixty days against the classical rules for taking an animal into the household (the panchang of each day, see panchang and muhurat). A date it did not score is never proposed; if the scoring is unavailable the answer says so in one line and answers from the natal and transit half only.

What the answer never does

A muhurat improves the conditions of a beginning; it does not decide what follows, so the answer never promises that the animal will be healthy, easy or long-lived. It never gives veterinary advice, names no disease and predicts neither lifespan nor death, and it never names a breeder, shelter, brand or practice or quotes a price. It never tells you to delay taking in an animal that needs rescuing now because a day scores poorly: it says what the day carries and leaves the decision to you, because a life is not a muhurat problem.

If you do not know the birth time

Say so: the natal half softens, while the panchang half is unaffected. You can see first how much depends on the time in the free chart calculator (tick “Time unknown”), and read a chart without a birth time.

Questions

I have not decided which animal yet. Can I still ask?
Yes. The answer says in one line that the question of which animal is a separate reading, points you to it and answers the timing anyway.
What if I need to rescue an animal right now?
Then the answer says what the day carries and lets you decide: a life is not a muhurat problem, and a day that scores poorly is never a reason to delay a rescue.
Why a waxing Moon?
It is the classical preference for a growing household charge. The answer states it once as the reason rather than as a rule.
Does a good day promise a healthy animal?
No. A muhurat improves the conditions of a beginning; it does not decide what follows, and the answer promises neither health, ease nor length of life.
Is the answer free?
Your chart and the calculators on this site are free. The answer to this question is a paid topic in the bot; its price in stars is shown there.
