Why the frequency matters

Many sites present every yoga as a rare gift. The numbers say otherwise: we ran our engine on 3,000 random birth charts, and Budha-Aditya formed in about half of them, Vesi, Vosi or Ubhayachari in about nine out of ten, while Kemadruma appeared in about one chart in a hundred. A common yoga is not worthless, but it cannot be the main story of a chart by itself. Its strength is: the dignity of the planets, the houses they rule for your ascendant, and whether a dasha activates them.

How we define each yoga

Texts differ on details, so each page states the rule our engine actually checks. It follows B. V. Raman's catalogue with the corrections JyotiSoft made where a common implementation departed from the classical wording, and it says where a common modern reading is broader or stricter. Yogas and remedies

A difficult yoga is a reason to look closer, not a curse to be bought off. Kemadruma, for example, is cancelled in most charts by planets near the Moon or in the angles, and our engine already applies that cancellation. The classical texts describe yogas, not price lists; a gemstone, where the chart calls for one, is chosen by the tradition from the whole chart, with mantra and charity as the foundation.
